Interview

How was your first day at Daimler?

The first day of my training started with a great deal of excitement. Following a warm welcome, we were split up into groups and introduced to our future training supervisor and colleagues. We were given our work clothes, report book and other important things.

What do you particularly value about your job today?

What I love about my training is that I have the opportunity to work in various departments, which provides me with a lot of experience. Additional courses have allowed me to see my training as a varied and exciting experience.

Please describe a typical working day.

At the start of the day, the first thing I do of course is to greet my co-workers. I then discuss my duties for that day with the supervisor or specialist responsible for me. I spend most of my training on the factory floor in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim, working in departments such as passenger car maintenance, engine development, commercial vehicle development etc. This involves carrying out repairs at the instruction of a specialist, or playing an active role in vehicle development.

What are your future career goals?

My current goal is to successfully complete my training. After that I would like to continue training in order to advance my career.

What do you especially like at Daimler?

  • The positive work environment among colleagues
  • Working with vehicles equipped with the latest technology
  • The extensive opportunities for further training
  • The company’s social benefits
